Holistic Background Music Consulting · Hospitality

Most hotels already pay
for background music.
Few check if it works.

I help hospitality businesses spot and fix background music problems before they affect guests — and before they cost more to correct.

The real cost of getting it wrong

Background music problems are common. They rarely announce themselves.

A lobby that sounds like a waiting room. A restaurant where volume fluctuates between zones. A spa running the wrong playlist by Tuesday because no one has time to check. These are not creative problems — they are operational ones. And they quietly erode guest experience, staff morale, and eventually your reviews.

Audio Equipment

Wrong speakers, poor placement, unbalanced zones. Technical problems that have been "good enough" for years — until a guest notices them first.

Playlist Misalignment

Music that does not match the brand, the daypart, or the guest profile. Often unchanged since the day of setup.

Licensing Exposure

Playing unlicensed music or misusing streaming accounts in a commercial space. A financial and legal risk many operators quietly overlook.

No Internal Ownership

Staff do not know what to play, when to change it, or how to handle complaints. Music becomes an afterthought — until it is not.

What I do

End-to-end expertise.
One person.
Full picture.

Most audio consultants focus on equipment. Most music services focus on playlists. Licensing agencies focus on compliance. Nobody looks at all of it together.

I do. After 20 years working inside hotels as an entertainment manager, and alongside them as a regional consultant serving hundreds of properties, I understand the complete audio environment — from the speaker on the wall to the training of the person who presses play.

The difference between properties that get it right and those that do not is rarely budget. It is usually oversight and consistency.

Alexey Zolotorevich — Hospitality Background Music Consultant

Alexey Zolotorevich

About

I have been on both sides of this problem.

I am Alexey Zolotorevich — an independent hospitality consultant specialising in background music and audio operations.

My background is unusual: I have worked inside hotels as an entertainment and music manager, responsible for what guests actually hear. And I have worked alongside hotels as a regional consultant at MusicStyling — a world-leading background music agency — where I encountered hundreds of client cases across property types, markets, and budgets.

That combination means I understand what hotels need, what suppliers typically deliver, and where the gap between the two usually sits. I have seen the same patterns — and the same avoidable costs — repeat themselves across properties of every size and brand, from independent boutique operators to Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and IHG.

I started IMIX BGM Consultancy because there is no shortage of tools, services, and agencies. What is often missing is someone who can look at the whole picture and tell you honestly what is working and what is not.

That is what I do.

How it works

Simple. Low-friction. No surprises.

A straightforward process from first conversation to final handover. You are informed at every step, and there is no ambiguity about what is included or what happens next.

01

Initial Conversation

We talk through your property, what you currently have in place, and where the issues might be. No obligation. I will tell you honestly whether I can help and what engagement makes sense.

02

Scoping & Proposal

I put together a clear proposal outlining scope, duration, deliverables, and fee. No ambiguity about what is included.

03

On-site or Remote Engagement

I audit, optimise, and document as we go. You are informed at every step. Nothing is changed without your knowledge.

04

Findings, Handover & Follow-up

You receive a written record of what was found, what was changed, and what still needs attention. Remote follow-up is included in workshop engagements.
